Yale 15 Hillhouse

This project exemplifies our ability to bridge heritage and innovation, honoring Yale’s architectural legacy while delivering stonework built to last another hundred years. As part of the new construction of an extension to an existing historic Yale University building, we delivered a fully custom architectural stone package, centered around a meticulously crafted veneer pattern that wraps the entire building envelope. The project’s centerpiece was a bespoke veneer pattern that required multiple design iterations to closely replicate the character and rhythm of the adjacent historic facade. 

Over 400 unique stone sizes were produced in varying quantities, carefully coordinated to create a natural yet cohesive appearance across the entire building envelope. The scope extended beyond veneer to include custom banding, watertable, caps, and other detailed elements that framed the structure and emphasized its classical language. 

One of the most distinctive details was the striated finish on corner veneer stones, a subtle design element that added texture and visual depth while maintaining historical sensitivity. The project showcased our commitment to precision and customization, aligning seamlessly with Yale’s enduring architectural language.
