An Extraordinary Place: Unique Natural Stone Fireplace Surround

A Historical Georgian Colonial Manor, The Spa at Norwich Inn is an extraordinary place surrounded by natural stone, brick, and a well manicured landscape. The Inn is a warm, friendly atmosphere, replete with a fitness center, 37-treatment rooms, an indoor pool, a relaxation room, sauna, steam room, hot tubs, salon, and a pampering spa. Nearly 100 guest rooms, a restaurant, and pub—it is no wonder why the Inn has remained open since 1930.

Working on a project with architectural firm Maier Design Group, LLC. in Hartford, O&G’s Masonry Division was selected to provide the natural stone products and stone fabrication services for the relaxation room fireplace surround next to the indoor pool. The great room fireplace surround was completely transformed into a floor to ceiling space.

The materials used for the fireplace surround include the following:

Surround: Old World Copper Thinstone in Copper

Caps and Shelving: Bluestone

An exterior brick facade project nearing completion was matched; General Shale Brick in English Pub was selected. (Photos will be posted once complete.)

The serene interior matches the exterior where reflecting pools, fountains, stone walls, courtyards & cozy patios, and fountains are nestled within the surrounding landscape. O&G’s Masonry Division was pleased to have participated on this project.
